Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Across Tanzania Expeditions and transferred to your hotel in Arusha.

In the evening, you will meet your professional mountain guide for a detailed pre-climb briefing. During this session, you will review the itinerary, conduct a full gear check, and receive important safety and acclimatization guidance to ensure you are fully prepared for your trek on Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 1: Arusha → Rongai Gate Hike → Simba Camp

You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and transferred to Rongai (Narumuru) Gate, near the Kenyan border, where your trek on Mount Kilimanjaro begins.

The trail passes through farmland, Rongai Forest, and heather moorland, offering chances to spot wildlife and unique vegetation.

After a steady hike, you will arrive at Simba Camp (Cave 1) at 2,830 m, where you will enjoy a warm meal, relax, and spend the night under the mountain skies.
